27 November - submitted by Steve Sweet

Tuesday morning the dive tent was moved from Station 57 to Station 53. The first photo shows the dive tent over Station 53 with Station 48 (just the left of the Orange hut) and McMurdo Station in the backround. The divers collected sediment samples and the samples were processed as before. The second photo shows Christian McDonald (a McMurdo Station Diver) assisting Rob Robins (the Dive Master for McMurdo Station) in his preparations for the dive. Water samples were successfully collected at this site. While sampling Station 53 we noticed that a weddell seal had made use of the hole that we left behind from Station 68 (third photo). In the evening we were invited to a screening of a nature program by Christian McDonald who was a diver in the documentary. Norman Wu accurately depicted the Antarctic experience as well as breath taking underwater photography; keep an eye out for the program on PBS in January 2002.
