| Friday the weather deteriorated throughout the day; however, we were able to field a terrestrial sampling team for a couple of hours (see photos). A total of 20 terrestrial samples were collected from around McMurdo Station, leaving 10 samples left to collect. Shortly after sampling operations were curtailed, the weather service on the station declared a Condition 2 weather situation. Weather Condition 2 restricts travel to covered vehicles (no snowmobiles) and short, building to building foot travel. Condition 1 does not authorize any travel outside at all. Areas on the ice shelf were at Condition 1 today. | ||||||
