17 December 2001- submitted by Steve Sweet

Monday the storm subsided and digging out McMurdo Station, Williams Field, and Pegasis Field began. The area around McMurdo Station was not in a condition to be sampled. A sunny day combined with snow removal will open up the station for sampling in the not too distant future (weather permitting). During this time we cleaned up the laboratory and prepared packages for shipment back to our laboratories in Texas. Arrangements were made for another control site for terrestrial sampling at Marble Point for Tuesday.
