Sunday we concentrated on sampling around the helipad, since sampling is not advisable during normal operations. A total of 52 terrestrial samples were collected around the helipad and to the south, including the intake jetty for station's water supply (see photo). At the end of work today we have sampled thirteen of the fifteen marine stations and 216 of 435 terrestrial stations (see figure). The final photo is a vista from Observation Hill of the Royal Society Mountains across the ice from McMurdo Station. . |
